SUMMARY :
DuBlanc continues his search for the Covenant. The Hellspawn, who has taken up residence deep within the forest, defends two peasants against a band of thieves. One of the peasants is about to give birth, and the Hellspawn takes the couple to a nearby convent. At the covent, Sister Immaculata, a seraphic angel doing penance, keeps a dark secret. Longing to unburden herself, she finds no solace. In a desparate moment, a vision of the Spawn appears to Immaculata, causing her to transform back into a warrior seraph.

SPAWN DARK AGES 5 SUMMARY
Led by Lord Covenant, the downtrodden army of peasants meets on the battlefield against Lord Rivalen’s army commanded by the dark Guy DuBlanc. Soon disgusted by the bloodshed, Spawn declares the battle over. Later, Baron Rivalen meets with Spawn and tells him that his sister, the Baron’s wife, has died. Downcast, Spawn then leaves Rhyll to seek his fate in the great world, oblivious that Cog had given the relic of the true cross to the son he had unknowingly sired.

デュブランはコヴナントの探求を続けている。森の奥深くに住み着いたヘルスポーンは、盗賊団から農民の一組の夫婦を守っている。妻のほうは出産を控えており、ヘルスポーンは夫婦を近くの修道院に連れて行こうとしていた。修道院においては、シスター・イマキュラータは償いをしている熾天使であるという秘密を隠し持っている。彼女は修道院が営む養蜂の仕事を毎日続けているが、その仕事に自らの罪に対する慰めを見出せていなかった。絶望を感じているなかで、イマキュラータはヘルスポーンの姿を幻視する。そして幻視をしたことは彼女を本来の戦士セラフの姿へと変容させてしまう。
