Bairn, the Godslayer, is sent to hunt down Urshrek, a brutal cannibal God known as the Winter King. Accompanied by a aissolute thief called Dromo, the Godslayer enters the land of Urmber, realm of the Winter King. At last Bairn confronts Urshrek, and comes close to killing him. But in his death throes, the wild God fuels himself with the stolen souls of the people of Urmber, giving him renewed, and nearly unstoppable, power.
