Previously…
Peter Quill’s estranges father, the king of Spartax, decreed that no alien hand may touch the planet Earth. The Guardians promptly disobeyed and have been fugitives ever since.
But after months of evading the Spartax while making enemies of every other empire in the galaxy, the team has been ripped apart and each member individually captured by one of their enemies.
Gamora, captured by the Brotherhood of the Badoon, has been forced to fight unending waves of monsters while being interrogated for her father’s location. Rocket is busy having his insides examined by the Kree, and Groot has been tossed out of one of the Brood’s Acanti onto a desert planet. Meanwhile, Drax was kidnapped to be his Avengers team. All of this while their fearless leader, Star-Lord, was being held by his own father on planet Spartax. But J-Son should probably check in on his son, because he just jumped out the window of a skycraper!
