CIVIL WAR Ⅱ TIE-IN! The Guardians’ allegiances are split right down the middle, and tensions have NEVER been higher! Will they be too busy fighting to guard the galaxy? Will that even matter if they can’t leave Earth?
A group of misfits–Drax the destroyer, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Flash Thompson (a.k.a. Venom), Kitty Pryde, Ben Grimm (a.k.a. The Thing) and Angel Odinsdottir — joined together under the leadership of Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord) to fight for those who have no one to fight for them. They serve a higher cause as The Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Guardians’ old teammate Captain Marvel has asked for their backup in a fight against none other than Iron Man. An inhuman named Ulysses seems to be able to see the future: Captain Marvel wants to work with him, believing she has no choice if there’s a chance to avert catastrophe. Iron Man believes Ulysses’ personal biases and experiences make his visions too unreliable. Their disagreement is about to erupt into a Civil War.
They haven’t chosen ideological sides, but the Guardians are united in their support for Carl…For now, one of Ulysses’ vision allowed Captain Marvel to capture Thanos. Peter and Kitty know, and have decided not to tell the others.

CIVIL WAR Ⅱはマーベルワールドのなかで未来予知の能力を有するインヒューマン達が集結したユリシーズを巡って、キャプテン・マーベルとアイアンマンが率いるスーパーヒーローがそれに立ち向かうという内容。「犯罪発生前に阻止する」という理論に対してアイアンマンは真っ向から対立する。逆にキャプテン・マーベルはその予知能力で「犯罪を未然に防ぐ」という考えに賛同し、アイアンマンとは対立する立場に立つ。結末としてはユリシーズの能力は「確定した未来を見ている」のではなく「多元宇宙のある一面」を見ているであるというもの。元々、クリー人が作り出した新人類インヒューマンはテリジェンクリスタルから発生する「テリジェンミスト」を使ってパワーを生み出す。オハイオ州立大学の学生であるユリシーズ・カインが意図せず「テリジェンミスト」を浴びてしまい、インヒューマンの能力に目覚めることから話が始まります。
