Previously…
Malekith and his powerful allies from the other Nine Realms have conquered what had been the last realm standing: Earth.

But Midgard’s heroes are determined to take it back.

As the heroes of Midgard and their new allies from across the various other conquered realms battle Malekith’s force all around the globe. Thor received a message from Malekith: The Dark Elf king has taken Odin and Freyja prisoner, and if anyone else other than Thor comes to confront him. Malekith will use his new symbiote weapon to murder the God of Thunder’s parents.

Seeking wisdom, Thor found the World Tree growing from the sun and ordered Daredevil, as the new God Without Fear, to nail him to it. There he now hangs, searching for a way to defeat Malekith.

Meanwhile, Jane Foster, a former Thor herself, found the half-broken hammer of the War Thor…and picked it up.
