中世の時代。北欧にはヴァイキングの名で知られる武装船団(海賊)がいた。そして彼らのなかにも強靭な魂を持ち合わせ、不幸にしてHellspawnとした転生を果たした人物がいた・・・
Overstreet’s Fan magazineの#16、#17、#18にポリ袋に入って同梱された作品。ポリ袋に入ってはいるが、Gold Foil Logoや Platinum Foil Logoのバージョンは小売業者用のインセンティブとして作成され、販促用に追加で数部印刷されました。現在では「1:100 Incentive」といった形で出版されるバージョンと同じですが、どの程度の割合で配賦されているかは不明です。
時期としてはアクションフィギュアが大ブームとなり、series4のExo-Skeleton spawnのバージョン違いが乱発していた時。7月にはseries 5が発売され、Viking-spawnが登場していた。Spawnでは北欧を舞台としたspin-off作品が幾つか存在している
